Girls Night Social celebrates extraordinary women in Bath
On Sept. 23, ladies from Bath Community Fund hosted a Girls Night Social to celebrate the fund's "200 Years - 200 Women" campaign.
The campaign honors women who have made a lasting difference in Bath by encouraging people to donate to the fund in their honor or memory.
"This was a special chance to come together with some extraordinary women in our community: women who are engaged, energetic and committed," said Jody Miller Konstand, advisory board chair and host of the Girls Night Social. "That room was so full of life and promise that we were left feeling that anything is possible."
Campaign organizers Nancy Fay and Kathy Sidaway hope to raise $250,000 through the campaign, allowing the Women of Bath to collectively claim the top block of Bath Community Fund's fundraising pyramid. (Or, as one attendee proclaimed, "Take the top of the triangle!")
Donations are tax deductible and ultimately support Bath Community Fund's "For Bath, Forever" endowment campaign, with a goal of raising $2.018 million in celebration of Bath's bicentennial. Women who are honored will receive a card letting them know a gift was made in their name, and donors of $1,000 or more will receive a custom pin for their contribution to this historic campaign.
The advisory board is planning more of these socials in the coming months. To receive an invitation, contact Jody Miller Konstand at 330-618-4477 or jmkmedia@msn.com.
