Bath Community Fund welcomes new advisory board members
Bath Community Fund is excited to welcome two new advisory board members in 2024.
James McClellan
James McClellan grew up in Akron but spent over 30 years in the United States Air Force. He traveled all over the world, but when it was time to retire in 2021, he and his wife, Lisa, decided to move back "home." He stated, "We searched for a place to settle down all over the United States, but Bath Township had the highest marks. What made the biggest difference was the people. They are hardworking, kind and generous... our kind of people."
James, who retired as a Colonel, has a long and strong history of service to our country. He wanted to continue to serve his community in retirement, so he quickly became involved in many community organizations. But Bath Community Fund was unique. He explained, "The people in BCF are special, so it was easy to get started. But when I found out what a difference the fund makes in the lives of our citizens and in the community, I knew I needed to get more involved."
James also serves on the board for the Ohio Western Reserve Chapter of the Military Officers Association. He is the vice president of the Bath Business Association and the chair of the Discover Bath Barns Committee.
He also spends time supporting his two sons, both of whom are in the military; playing pickleball; and pursuing amateur photography.
Melina Boyce
Growing up in Akron as the daughter of a single mom, Melina learned the value of hard work and helping others. Melina's passion for Bath Community Fund stems from her own experiences growing up in an underserved community. She knows firsthand the impact that dedicated nonprofits can have.
Melina is currently the Director, Client Service & Operations, at a small financial advisory firm, where she manages operations and technology. With 30 years of experience in client and customer service positions, including 12 years in the nonprofit sector, Melina brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to Bath Community Fund.
Melina has enjoyed being a resident of Bath for the last nine years with her husband, dog and cat. She also has an adventurous spirit and a passion for many unique hobbies, such as restoring and riding vintage motorcycles, camping with her husband in their Airstream, and working on DIY projects in their home.
