Recent research shows that scams and phishing make up a majority of malware attacks for organizations, and social engineering attacks dominated, as 90% of mobile attacks and 87% of desktop attacks are using some form of social engineering. Is your organization prepared for such an event?

Join Akron Community Foundation and the team from Schauer Group – a risk management and insurance advisory firm – as they share cyber insurance and security best practices for nonprofit organizations. Community Issues Session: Third Spaces in Action

Third Spaces have become trusted environments for young people outside of home and school that provide crucial support. They can range from after-school programs at community centers to meetups at churches, parks and libraries. Join us July 31 for our next Community Issues Session, which will feature local nonprofits that operate Third Spaces for young people, along with exploring strategies to create and leverage more Third Spaces in our community.

At the session, we'll hear from Akron Dream Center, The Vincent House, and First Serve at First Congregational Church of Hudson, who will each share their experience and expertise on different aspects of Third Spaces. The session will take place at Akron Dream Center, with the presentation beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a brief Q&A with audience members. Please note that the doors open at 3:30 p.m. The event is free to attend, but space is limited, so RSVP is required.

Bath Community Fund's Annual Meeting - 10th Anniversary Celebration

Join Bath Community Fund as we celebrate the fund's first 10 years of impact in the community, recognize our grant recipients, and look ahead to the fund's future. You'll also meet representatives from several of the nonprofits the fund supports and learn about the important work they're doing to strengthen our community for current and future generations.

We'll also welcome new members to our advisory board and thank our outgoing members for their dedicated service. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. Executive Director Kevin Gross will lead tours of Crown Point after the evening's main program. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes for walking. Please RSVP by Aug. 9.

Akron Rotary Camp Regatta & 100th Anniversary Celebration

For the last 100 years, Akron Rotary Camp has served children with special needs throughout Northeast Ohio. Join us as we celebrate the organization's 100th anniversary at the Akron Rotary Camp Regatta in the Portage Lakes. Guests will enjoy cocktails, entertainment, food and fireworks as we embrace the future.

Proceeds from the regatta will support the Akron Rotary Camp Endowment Fund, which was established at Akron Community Foundation to meet the needs of campers into the next century and beyond. Come join us as we continue this voyage of making a difference in the lives of special needs children and their families.

Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award Dinner

Join us as we celebrate the philanthropic leadership of Father Norm Douglas, the 55th recipient of the Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award.

The event begins with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner guests will enjoy a program led by Akron Community Foundation President and CEO John T. Petures Jr., followed by the presentation of the Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award, which is presented each year to an individual or couple who has shown selfless dedication to humanitarian causes in Akron.

Event proceeds benefit Akron Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity that improves the quality of life in Greater Akron by building community philanthropy.

Sugar Plum Tour of Holiday Homes

The Sugar Plum Tour is Akron's premier holiday home tour and the signature fundraiser of the Gay Community Endowment Fund. This year's event includes both live and virtual tours, with the live tour taking place on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 12 to 5 p.m., and the virtual tour occurring the weekend of Dec. 14-15.

Corporate and individual sponsorships for the Sugar Plum Tour are available and start at $500. All sponsors receive full access to both tours, including the private Patron Party home, early access to the virtual tour, and many other benefits.
