From WEF's President: Celebrating a huge milestone
As we celebrate the change in seasons and the beauty that fall brings to Northeast Ohio, the Women's Endowment Fund is also celebrating a significant milestone.
I am excited to share that the Women's Endowment Fund has surpassed $5 million in charitable assets! Congratulations to the donors, volunteers, board members and ACF staff who made this possible. I also want to express my gratitude to the Women's Endowment Fund's Founding Mothers who raised an initial $106,000 to get this ball rolling 31 years ago.
In a previous president's column written by Kendra Philon in the fall of 2019, she talked about our strategic goal of reaching $5 million in our fund by 2025. We all know what transpired during that time: a pandemic, lockdowns, and a lack of personal contact with others for a while. Little did Kendra know that COVID-19 was on the horizon, or that it would bring about huge changes in our lives, when she sat down to pen her president's letter. Yet we were steadfast in the mission, vision and guiding principles of the Women's Endowment Fund. We kept moving forward, like so many other nonprofits, one day at a time, sometimes one step at a time.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work, during the good and the hard times. As we approach the end of 2024 and move into a season of giving, I ask you to consider how you can increase your involvement with the Women's Endowment Fund. This could be by sponsoring our "For Women, Forever" Annual Celebration in March, joining our Circle of Empowerment, or simply by becoming an advocate to spread awareness about our fund and its mission.
Again, thank you for your continued support in changing the lives of women and girls in our community,
Pamela Kiltau
